Text Box: This 7.8 million gallon liquid asphalt storage facility began operation in 2001 and is located in Mansfield Ohio. Liquid asphalt is brought in by rail car. Once at the terminal the rail cars must have hot steam circulated around them which raises the temperature of the liquid so it can be pumped out of the rail car and into the storage tank. The stored liquid remains heated so it can be pumped into tanker trucks for transport to various asphalt production plants.
